Building World-Class Schools George Leventhal and his colleagues have an ambitious school construction program to eliminate hundreds of trailers, build 7 new schools and modernize 16 more by 2012. Leventhal helped improve teacher pay and pensions so we can attract and retain the best teachers. And this fall, all-day kindergarten will be offered in every elementary school.
